WICHITA -- The Hays Larks saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt with a 7-6 loss to the Wichita Twins in nonleague action Saturday night.
Hays rallied in the ninth to score twice, but came up a run short when Pete Maropis lined out to deep center field with the tying run on base to end the game.
Cody Ehlers hit a two-run homer for the Larks' runs in their final at-bat. It was his second homer in as many nights and his seventh for the season. He finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and one run scored.
Craig Cooper singled twice, scored two runs and drove in one for Hays (22-4).
Starter Mike Goettler took the loss for Hays. Goettler (2-1) allowed six runs on six hits in 12/3 innings.
Bryan Engle (1-1) is the Larks' probable starter for tonight's nonleague game against the Wichita Braves.
