The Hays Larks will be the No. 14 seed at this years
National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita.
The tourney begins Saturday.
Hays (40-10) will not play until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence-Dumont
Stadium against the winner of the Natchitoches (La.) Braves
and the Oklahoma Braves. Those two teams play at 10:30 a.m.
Sunday.
A victory in Hays opener would pit the Larks against
either the Seattle Studs or the Santa Maria (Calif.) Indians
Friday. A loss in the Larks opener will put Hays in
Saturdays consolation bracket.
The Larks finished ninth at the season finale a year ago
after back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2000 and 2001.
